Day 55 Run Challenge

Again passed 4.5 km. This is so cool and not something I had even dared hope would happen so early in the challenge. Who knows, maybe I’ll even get to 6:00 min/km average by the time this challenge is over!

I ran 4.52 km in the 30 minutes at an average pace of 6:38 mins/km, average heart rate of 151 bpm.

Didn’t seem to feel any effects from yesterday’s sprint training.

After the run, I played soccer for 90 minutes, running 9:08 km and reaching a max speed of 3:44 mins/km. I tried to keep moving throughout, even if it meant walking in a small area. Running in soccer shoes for that long doesn’t do my feet any favours, even though I had my injinji socks on.

When I came home from all that, boy did my legs hurt. It was a feeling about half as sore as the Melbourne Half Marathon, which makes sense because at a total of 13.58 km I ran over half a Half Marathon.

Tomorrow’s going to be tough. Hopefully I make 4 km, but it’s not likely.
