Day 47 Run Challenge

Today was one of those days you just want to get through your training and go home. It was really windy & I chose a route with a lot of bigger hills. Found it really tough to control my heart rate, so it was all over the place.

Felt really slow, but surprised myself by going over 4km. I felt like I was running about 8:30, but was doing sub 7:00. I think my speed perception has been off for a while now as I’ve noted here the last few days.

Ended up doing 4.04 km in the 30 minutes at an average pace of 7:26 mins/km, average heart rate of 151 bpm.

Did additional training by doing a 230 metre sprint up Hale Rd hill (11% incline) in 54 seconds, then ran past Mum & Dad’s, stopped for a drink and ran home. Had to get home somehow and couldn’t be bothered walking all that way. That extra running after the sprint came to 3.63 km in 25:16 at 6:58 mins/km and heart rate of 163 bpm average.

I also took a break from my Dunlops & ran in the Under Armours that I did the marathon in. They have a lot more cushioning and it felt weird landing before I was expecting to. Probably a contributor to how lousy I felt because I was fine before I started running.
