It’s Been A Few Days

fishingSorry it’s been a few days since I updated you on the challenge. I was away in Kalbarri on a holiday with Cat and didn’t have an internet connection.

The challenge basically went out the window while I was in Kalbarri. I fully intended to keep to it while I was away, but my body rejected that idea pretty convincingly.

It’s surprising how much driving 600 km essentially non-stop takes out of you. I was fine driving, no problems holding concentration for that period of 6 hours. We arrived around 6pm and I had a nap either side. But when it got to 2am that night I slept for 8 hours straight. Woke up feeling like all my joints had dried out. It was awful.

Every day was filled with physical activity which wore me out considerably. Collecting oysters, scrambling over rock formations and beach/reef fishing is surprisingly taxing lol.

I tried to keep to the challenge, but it just wasn’t happening. I ended up sleeping for 27 hours total over the three days we were away! One day I slept for 10 hours straight. That was more relaxing.

After I drove back I slept that night for 8 hours. I allowed that because I have to do a lot of singing over the Easter festivities and I’d rather not be a zombie.

So I’m back on the challenge now. It will be interesting to see how quickly I readjust to the challenge.

  1. I can’t believe that you didn’t sleep longer after everything you did! But I’m really proud of you for being sensible enough to allow a change to your schedule, not embarrassed about it and documenting (and reporting!) it, and having the motivation and self-discipline to get back onto it again.

    You’re awesome!!
