Best Time Yet

I thought today would be a really slow run, given I’d literally just stepped off a 4 hour flight, it was 8 pm, I’d run a half marathon yesterday and have a wheezing cough from the seeds of the horrible sycamore trees in Melbourne.

How wrong was I? I ended up running my best distance yet in the 30 minutes, even though it was cut short about 15 seconds because a group of Aboriginal women decided to have a sit down screaming match on the footpath where I was running. Had to stop, wait for traffic and cross the road to avoid them.

At around the 2km mark I was feeling like I was overheating, so with no one around (cars, but no one walking) I took my shirt off and instantly went faster. I kept up a decent pace because I was able to cool properly.

Ended up doing 4.25 km in the 30 minutes at an average pace of 7:04 mins/km, average heart rate of 150 bpm.
